Mental health workshop
KWY would like to thank Tracey Westerman for her hard work delivering the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention workshop on the 15th, 16th and 17th of August 2018.
“Great trip to Adelaide delivering the three-day Mental Health and Suicide Prevention workshop to this amazing group. A very special shout out to the crew from KWY who kept me laughing and entertained for most of the workshop. This organisation does simply amazing work in men’s violence prevention – their program has to simply be amongst the best and most needed in Australia. We had participation from the NT, NSW, QLD and even WA for this workshop. I seem to be saying this a lot these days but the desire from this group to do the best possible work in often very remote communities was just humbling to see!! Thank you all so much – it is such a vital role you all fulfil for our most in need in those areas!!”

New to KWY
Kornar Winmil Yunti’s (KWY) new Aboriginal Family Violence Program (AFVP) acknowledges the effects of Aboriginal family violence, including domestic and lateral violence, and the impacts which are compounded by the fact that survivors of violence may not have access to culturally appropriate services or supports. The AFVP will provide a specialised service to Aboriginal women and children by delivering culturally appropriate services and support by addressing client’s safety through risk and safety assessments and assertive, holistic case management to include health, mental health and social and community connections
