What We Offer
Mankurri-apinthi offers peer-to-peer group support aimed to improve participants wellbeing, create larger support networks, improve knowledge, and enhance self-esteem and confidence.
We believe the sharing of culture, lived experience and knowledge happens organically when mob meet.
Mankurri-apinthi is a support network run by community for community.

This program empowers peer volunteers and families to come together and make choices about what they want to learn and do.

Community-led Groups

Each group has a minimum of 1 peer volunteer who is supported by KWY
-
Each group has up to 6 peers working towards goals that meet weekly
-
Volunteers lead group yarning as group members work out their goals and what they want out of their groups
-
Possible group themes could be anything from cooking, culture, relationships, problem solving, time management, budgeting, or anything the group chooses.

The service is for families with children aged birth to 18 years

At least one parent or child is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

Our goal is to connect you into your community and find a group with other like-minded people.

Referrals to the program can come from government departments, non-government organisations, family, community, self-referral and internally through KWY.
